baddreams

johannk: Dude
I just had the most fucked up dream ever
you were in it.
Richie: lol
did i get to blow shit up
johannk: It was so realistic
no. Well, sorta.
It started off with us as enforcement for a bigshot businessman
it was so real
like bribing people
and shit
and kicking homeless people
Richie: nice
johannk: which escalated into a full scale gang war which went insane. Like, these are rich people.
Like Trump rich.
so it was intense
and we were all hiding out in an inner city house close to the sky rises, packing heat, of course
and everything
EVERYTHING
we were doing was suddenly made insignificant
like sure, Trump Tower got hit with rockets and we watched that, and watched as people fell from the building
Richie: lol
johannk: and we we swore revenge
but we, you and I
went outside to look
me to take photos
and suddenly I noticed it got brighter
like the image just became daylight
and I was like "what the..."
turned around
and EVERYTHING WAS MADE INSIGNIFICANT
I saw the flash
the burgeoning mushroom cloud
Richie: weeeee
johannk: and just hit the fucking deck next to the wall
and I could feel, like honestly, the shockwave
then the burning of the skin as I tried to "duck and cover" and hide sensitive areas
Richie: i find that most times dreams involving nuclear explosions rule
johannk: usually I'm inflicting them on others
Richie: either that or scare the crap out of you
johannk: not suffering through one.
yeah.
and then when it past I got up in a horrid wasteland. Walked into the house to see if everyone was okay (You ran back inside when it happened, I just hit the deck)
everyone was pretty burnt and the half the house was blown away
but I managed to open the fridge and get a couple bottles of water, soak a large towel and wrap it around myself and some others
then I woke up
just
Richie: wow you really have this all planned out
your plan for surviving a nuke
johannk: not really
it just seemed sensible
too many fucking Duck and Cover vids
I doubt we survived
everyone was in pretty bad shape, and it would've probably been a slow painful death
but that feeling... man... of everything we were doing being wiped away and made utterly insignificant
that was so vivid
Richie: yeah what would we do without future apocalypse movies to put things in perspective
johannk: indeed.
Or in my case, I think too many Civil Service videos
and CoD4
oops
I hope I didn't spoil that one for you
Richie: i had the crappiest dream
i was dreaming that i woke up and worked on my thesis
and then i woke up
johannk: God I hate those.
Richie: and now im working on my thesis
johannk: hahahahahaha
Richie: it sucks as much now as it did then

Mein gott. Would you look at that.

That... is beautifully slim. Supermodel slim.

I may have to get myself a laptop in the next couple of years to edit photos on the go... been thinking about getting a Mac.

This is really helping the decision making process.

Wow.

rezorgies

I don't know how many of you remember Rez, or the whole giggle we all got out of the Game Girl Advance review of it that got most of us snicker about it (and some of us to try it)... but the Dreamcast game is coming to XBox Live.

Instead of shipping with the trance vibrator (which you can't really ship digitally) it will support the use of up to three other XBox controllers as trance vibrator substitutes.

I for one am looking forward to invite over some gamer girls I know for Rez orgies. We won't need the drugs orgies usually entail, what with the 'musical synaesthesia' that'll be going on with the game. Maybe some alcohol and snacks? Either way... I have never (except with Mass Effect) felt more justified in buying a 360 this past holiday.

*evil grin*

I should not still be awake, but... I am.

There is something wrong with me. I am having recurring delusions of romance, a quiet but insistent nagging reminding me that I was not always the person I have been known to be of late.

That these thoughts should strike me now at the new year is no coincidence. Perhaps the need for a renewal and for change, at a time when all talk, whether on the electoral candidates in the United States or simply of the New Year, have been about change.

These fluttering feelings of self doubt, the inescapable yet incomprehensible loss of all cognitive functions at the slightest thought of someone whose mere ...

Shoot me now, for I am disarmed. You won't get another chance.

My best to my good friend Anna, and here's to a speedy recovery. As speedy as her injuries will allow, anyway.

I hope she pulls out okay.

inthedark

So... back in the apartment after a decidedly enjoyable break, settling into a post vacational malaise. I like to wallow in slight moods of depression sometimes.

Quick thought:

I'm sick of this hybrid car nonsense. Sure, if you want to save money on gas, by all means you might as well buy one.

But the hybrid's fashionable image of the environmentally friendly wunderauto is ridiculous. Come on now. Their mileage is really no better than a diesel for most purposes, and their typically tiny petrol engine has to lug around a huge battery and electric motor, using even more gas when the petrol engine is running.

And that's only on a personal level. There are constantly doubts being raised about the nickel-metal hydride batteries in hybrid cars. Sure, you can recycle them, but how many will be recycled? And what about the mining processes involved in manufacturing them? MIT and other studies have shown that pollution involved in hybrid car production is higher than that of the production of conventional vehicles.

Sure, I'll buy they're better for the environment in urban centres than conventional petrol vehicles. If you really need a car in a city in the first place. Still, at the cost, I could be just as green, if not greener, with a small diesel. I'd get better performance and better safety features as well.
